STORY OF THE PICTURE
“In Anticipation” is an image depicting a silent inner dialogue. The seated woman is painted with a delicate, realistic technique – her calmness and gentle gaze towards the viewer gives a serene, almost meditative effect.
However, the space around her is disturbed by the dynamics – a flock of seagulls, created by pasty, rough painting, brings restlessness, agitation and inner tension to the painting.
The painting was created during a period of personal sensitivity, when conflicting emotions clashed within me – calm and tension, balance and confusion. The painting is an invitation to pause and perceive subtle shifts within oneself.
The work is an original oil painting on canvas and is intended to be hung with or without a frame.
