THE STORY OF THE PAINTING – FORGIVENESS
This abstract painting was created by randomly applying colours to the canvas and then folding it. This technique may remind some of the Rorschach test – where a doctor applied an ink blot to paper, folded it in half and then asked the patient: “What do you see?”
This piece evokes a similar feeling. Everyone sees something different in the shapes – each viewer brings their own story.
DESCRIPTION OF THE PAINTING
An experimental painting technique – this time involving the soaking of pigments directly into the canvas.
Special artist pigments have been used, and the whole surface is finished with a protective varnish.
The painting works best when displayed horizontally – and can even be hung upside down. I haven’t quite decided which way I prefer. Perhaps it just depends on the mood.
