STORY OF THE PAINTING
Forgotten City is an original dripping abstract painting on canvas that transforms with changing light throughout the day. Every shift in light reveals new colours, textures and emotions.
In the midday sun, the painting feels full of strength — it plays with shimmering light areas and flirts with soft purple hues. In the evening light, it seems to reflect the sunset with gentle orange-tinged highlights. As night falls, however, the painting darkens — and one can’t help but sense a scene from a Scandinavian crime story hiding in its shadows.
That’s exactly what I love about dripping. Each day brings a new story. A different light, a different mood, a different image.
DESCRIPTION OF THE PAINTING
This piece was created using a special technique in which paint is allowed to drip freely from a height onto the canvas. At first glance, it might look like something a small child could do. But honestly… even I was surprised by how many challenges lie hidden within such apparent simplicity.
Inspired by the expressive dripping technique made famous by Jackson Pollock, this original artwork explores texture, movement and constantly changing light.
