STORY OF THE PICTURE

There was no deep concept behind the creation of this painting. No flash of inspiration, no grand idea – just a pure desire to create. I simply painted – stroke by stroke, layer by layer – until something emerged that genuinely brought me joy.

Sometimes, it’s exactly this kind of painting that surprises me the most. When I let go of control, stop analysing, and allow the colours to lead the way. For some reason, this canvas called for soft tones and a gentle mood.

The result is a painting that holds both stillness and movement at once. A quiet space to breathe. A dream dissolving into a misty morning.

I struggled with the title for quite a while – nothing seemed to fit. So I turned to my Instagram followers. Their responses were brilliant. The suggestion that caught my attention most was “Imagentation” – imagination without magenta.

I love playing with meanings, so this wordplay felt both fitting and delightfully light-hearted.

PAINTING DESCRIPTION

This work was created using a mixed media technique, patiently layered over time.
It began with expressive splashes of acrylic paint, and gradually evolved as textural elements emerged. Eventually, everything came together under several delicate, almost glaze-like layers of oil paint.

The layers gently interact and flow into one another, creating a surface that holds both depth and softness.
