STORY OF THE PICTURE
Where does this painting fit in? Is it a classical still life, or perhaps a symbolism?
The painting is inspired by the poem The Raven by Edgar Allan Poe. It also starts innocently at first glance, but in the end, with its extraordinary angle on seemingly ordinary things, it draws the reader unexpectedly into the dusty corners of his own mind.
A philosophical reflection on how some things in our lives persist despite time, while others dissolve like the morning mist.
Sometimes it is useful to become, as it were, an observer of life. Like the raven in this case. He stands apart, away from the main object, which, unlike him, attracts the viewer’s attention.
DESCRIPTION OF THE OIL PAINTING
On a dark background is a classic antique torso of a female body. The shades in the photographs are indicative only.
