STORY OF THE PICTURE

The first five photographs show the painting in different lighting. Yet it is almost impossible to photograph it truthfully. Therefore, I recommend that you come and see the painting in person before you buy it.

I created the painting with the desire to represent prosperity, wealth, plentitude, abundance, or luxury.

Interestingly, the “tile” raster was created completely at random. Just like the whole painting. The assumption that an artist makes something up in his head and then renders it is completely wrong. At least in my case. For me it’s that I start creating and then something comes out of it. And that something certainly doesn’t correspond to any previous idea in my head.

The combination of abundance and those random tiles caused the funny title.

DESCRIPTION OF THE PICTURE

This is an experimental combination of different techniques. From plain acrylic, to art paint, to metal paint, to powder and slice gilding.

The golden maps stand out from the anthracite ground (with a brownish tinge). Over these are pale blue cast splashes and then more and more “golden ducats” spiced with a few dots of deep blue fine acrylic.

Everything is finished on a fully dry base and varnished, so that resistance to the ravages of time is guaranteed.

I recommend coming to see the painting in person, as the photos are no substitute for the real perception.
