THE STORY BEHIND ROEDUCK

This colourful picture was actually created by a coincidence of several small events.

A friend of mine loves Salvador Dali’s “Meditative Rose”. And this piece just begs for parody.

The other fate is my sister. We were shopping together and for some strange reason I was fascinated by the plastic head of a deer in the store.

My sister, thinking she was going to snap me out of my trance and we’d finally go get that coffee, said, “Rip the head off the duck and put this deer head on the yellow torso.”

I rolled my eyes at her and said she was absolutely brilliant! In return, she nearly collapsed from it.

No matter, the coffee worked and the parody of the surreal red rose then could not be put off any longer.
